Should You Install Your Own Security System?
If you have the skill set and tools to hang a smoke detector and know how to operate a touchscreen then the short answer is yes, you should install your own security system.
Video Security. The Next Best Thing to Having an Armed Guard on duty 24/7.
When you turn on Perimeter Guard, our camera's produce an audible and LED alert when they detect a person inside a custom perimeter that you set up. You can also talk and listen through the camera using your phone and the app or the Smart Hub. When the suspicious character know's that they've been detected they're going to move on pretty quick. Have your camera's activate outdoor lighting. This really get's the trespasser's attention and shines a new light on the subject, literally. Be pro-active and possibly prevent something tragic from happening. Share footage of the event quickly with neighbors and law enforcement.

How's Your Internet?
The IQ Hub uses AT&T or Verizon for it's primary communications. You must choose when you add the Hub to your cart. It uses your WiFi connection for back up communications if the cell network is down. You do NOT have to have WiFi for the Hub and all safety, life safety and automation devices to work. You DO have to have WiFi for the camera's though. It's recommended to have an upload speed of at least 2Mbps per camera. Check your speed below. If you live in a rural area and can't get anything else besides HugheNet or ViaSat please check the links below for possible alternatives. If your address doesn't qualify with any of them and you have at least 2 bars of cell signal we can probably help.
